Dallas Cowboys’ QB Tony Romo Trolls New England Patriots ‘Deflategate’ issue with Blake Shelton and Luke Bryan at 2015 ACM Awards

While the National Football League (NFL) season has been over for months, the spirit of the football sport was still kicking at the 2015 Academy of Country Music (ACM) Awards on Sunday night, April 19th. The 50th golden anniversary event took place at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas – the home of “America’s Team,” the Dallas Cowboys.

Although the night is dedicated to the hottest acts in country music industry, the Dallas Cowboys starting quarterback Tony Romo was present in the event to toss around the ball with ACM Award hosts Luke Bryan and “The Voice” judge Blake Shelton. Luke Bryan was visibly excited to be able to play catch with the star quarterback footballer, however Blake Shelton didn’t have much faith in his co-host’s athletic skills.

“Can you even catch a pass?” as Blake Shelton questioned Bryan. “Hell yes,” he responded, breaking out his very own “sticky gloves.”

Luke Bryan then proved to Blake Shelton wrong by catching Dallas Cowboys QB Romo’s pass, however Blake Shelton had his doubts regarding the authenticity of the throw. Shelton joked and ask if Tony Romo threw a deflated ball – a reference to “deflategate,” a massive controversy that surrounded the New England Patriots earlier this year.

“Blake, we’re the Dallas Cowboys,” Romo responded. “We have real balls,” he added.
