As several U.S. major chain retailers as well as shopping mall continue to snub an emerging trend to close down physical establishments on Thanksgiving Day, the big box chain Target doubled down on Wednesday by not only announcing it will open its location stores at 6 P.M. on Turkey Day, but commence its Black Friday 2016 sales online.

But most retail companies, including Target, seems to be continuing the tradition of starting its Black Friday sales on Thanksgiving Thursday.

“The response has been overwhelmingly positive,” Janna Potts, Target’s executive VP and chief stores officer.

Like many other discount retailers from regional to nationwide superstores, Target customers won’t have to wait until the the actual Black Friday itself to grab a deep discounted deals. Beginning today, through Thursday, a total of 18 products will be offered on its online marketplace at as well as in-store through the retailer’s Cartwheel saving app, which is available on iOS and Play Store. Some of the doorbuster deals include a Jetson V6 Hoverboard for only $284.99, and a whopping 25 percent discount on all Apple TV generations.

As for now, Target’s 2016 pre-Black Friday sales is going on now at its online store, and on Thanksgiving Thursday it will feature 15 doorbuster Black Friday deals, available online and in-store through the Cartwheel app.

While Amazon is offering free two-day shipping to Prime members, non-members are also eligible of complimentary free shipping with minimum of $49.
