The Apple iPhone 7 might have got its release date – two months before it will actually be announced to the public.
The Cupertino-based technology company’s next cellular device is rumored to hit the market on 16 September, via Evan Blass — the usually reliable leaker.
The iPhone had always been assumed to launch some time in September, since Tim Cook-led tech firm Apple has launched and then released all of the recent iPhones that same month. But the latest leak appears to provide a clear date they’ll come out – and prepare consumers for getting into the long queues that usually form in anticipation.
If Apple is indeed released the iPhone 7 on 16th of September, then the announcement where the firm show it off will probably be around a week and a half before – the week of September 5th.
That being said, it would make sense, since the tech giant tends to unveil its flagship smartphones on a Friday, which falls on September 16. And the rumored iPhone 7 release date would be sitting right in the middle of that of the last two handsets, which came out by the end of September.
With September 16 date for new iPhone availability is a pretty earlier than it used to be, since the iPhone moved to a September release date. in 2015, the iPhone 6s smartphones made available in the market for retail availability on September 25th. The iPhone 6 launched on September 19 a couple of years ago and the 2013 iPhone 5s was September 20.
With a sooner-than-normal iPhone release date in the market, this also pushes the date for Apple’s media press announcement of the iPhone 7. If the report is to be believed, we’ll have the new iPhone 7 in a month and a half.
Evan Blass also said that there will be two iPhone 7 models released this September, which are being codenamed Sonora and Dos Palos. However, that won’t include a rumored “pro” variant, which has been said to include extra features like a dual-lens camera sensors.
